Transport of much needed humanitarian assistance makes it way to storage and soon thereafter to needy receipiants identified by Family Care Lebanon.
To organize humanitarian aid distributions, each family brings their family registration papers, allowing us to establish the ages and sex of all family members.
Registration is completed prior to these families being invited to come and receive their needs. In addition to families receiving new clothes, distribution of warm winter clothes and food takes place at many refugee camps, schools and orphanages.
Family Care Lebanon also reaches out to help those in refugee camps in the Bekaa, where especially in winter the high plateaus can be awfully cold. (Minus 10 at times)
Refugees are easily intiminated when first meeting foreigners but after demonstarting our concern for them and their children, many approach us to express their gratitude.
Family Care Lebanon also provides inspirational programs for displaced children, working alongside United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA). We host a weekly program for underprivileged girls ages 7-13. Through involvement in arts and crafts activities, music and drama, these girls are given an opportunity to express their creativity.
